Whilst relatively small, we more than make up with experience. Each member of the team brings something to the table, having not just worked within a media independent but having backgrounds from full-service agencies, advertising sales and the client side. Having had all these disciplines we hope this gives us empathy with the people we are dealing with whether it is the client, clients’ creative and PR agencies or media owners. Meet The Team

Mike Richards - Director




Mike started his career in advertising in 1975 with McCann Erickson. He was Media Director of the Moorgate Group (1984 – 1988) and Hill Murray (1988 – 1990) before becoming one of the founder members of Capital City Media. Mike has been a judge for the past 6 years on Incisive Media’s Gold Standard awards, past two years for the PPA and once for the Money Marketing awards. He often contributes (using complex syntax) to various financial media and has spoken at conferences and lectured for numerous media owners and other relevant organisations. He is a Life member of Kent County Cricket Club, a season ticket holder at Bayern Munich.

Becky Ford - Associate Director




Becky joined Capital City Media in January 2000 after graduating from Swansea University with a degree in politics and social policy. Becky spent a short spell in the marketing department at BMW before starting at Capital City.
Becky’s main area of responsibility is with Capital City Media’s investment management companies across print and online media.
She is an Associate Director and her interests include skiing and horse riding.

Holly Mackenzie - Associate Director




After graduating from University in Canterbury with a degree in English Literature and Psychology, Holly worked with the Sales Team at Scottish Equitable before joining Aberdeen Asset Management in 1999. Following 1 year of working with the Compliance Department and 2 years with the Marketing Team, Holly joined Capital City Media in July 2002.
Holly divides her time between Capital City Media’s Retail and Institutional clients across both the UK and European markets.
She is an Associate Director and her interests include dancing, singing and drama.

Darren Plimmer - Senior Account Manager




After graduating from The University of Leeds in 2006 with a degree in History, Darren joined IPC Media as a Classified Sales Executive on the Southbank portfolio, before moving to Centaur as a Display Sales Executive on the Mortgage portfolio. After 19 months here, he made the move across to the agency side to join Capital City Media in July 2008, where he works alongside Becky & Holly across their accounts.
Darren is a Senior Account Manager and enjoys football, going to the gym and socialising with friends.
